Why do some editors hate feedback?
Recently I saw a promo for a litmag that was re-launching. I looked at the submission criteria and they said it could be up to 6 months before they responded. No payment was mentioned. I also noted that they were using ‘disinterested’ when they meant ‘uninterested’.
I emailed my polite comments on these matters. Back came a childish and churlish response that referred to my comments as complaints and was signed off with ‘Enjoy the day you deserve’.
This is not the first time I’ve had a similar response from editors. They seem to think that any suggestion is an attack on their competence. To me those responses settle the matter entirely.

What a thin-skinned, nasty response! Definitely immature, and definitely a magazine to avoid.
Young and rude, no doubt insecure. Keep 'em in mind but let them grow up for a few more years....(sigh).
