We know some writers find it easier to be creative when they’re given a prompt. So we’ve decided to add this as an extra opportunity. Starting from October 1, we will issue a monthly prompt, beginning with ‘What if …’. Submission is free but we always appreciate donations.
The best three responses to the monthly prompt will be eligible to win US$10 each, with winners announced and published at the beginning of the following month.
Remember, as always, we're looking for writing that is founded on wit, humour, puns, absurdity and irony. Put away the sledgehammer, the cliches, the tired tropes and the nastiness. Minimum 200 words, maximum 1,000.
(Please note that our free general submissions will always remain open and eligible for monthly prizes, with a new piece of wit published daily.)
The prompt for October is ‘What if you woke up one day and had a superpower?’
